Biden Declares Formal Candidacy For 2024 Presidential Race

On Tuesday, April 25th, President Joe Biden formally announced his intention to seek re-election, bringing an end to months of speculation about his plans. This announcement comes exactly four years after his initial declaration of candidacy in 2020. In a video entitled “Freedom,” President Biden highlights his commitment to preserving democracy in the United States, especially in light of recent events such as the January 6 attack on the Capitol and ongoing protests over abortion rights.

The President expressed concern over the potential threat posed by “MAGA extremists” who seek to dismantle the social safety net and infringe upon personal liberties. This message reinforces his determination to uphold the principles of democracy and to continue working towards a better future for all Americans.

“When I ran for president four years ago, I said we are in a battle for the soul of America. And we still are. The question we are facing is whether in the years ahead we have more freedom or less freedom, more rights or fewer,” he said, adding: “This is not a time to be complacent. That’s why I’m running for re-election.” The bid serves as a strategic move to portray President Joe Biden as the optimal candidate to defeat any Republican opponents and reinforce the accomplishments of his administration leading up to the 2024 elections.
