Microsoft and G42 Unveil Ambitious Plan to Elevate UAE’s Tech Ecosystem

G42 and Microsoft have embarked on the next phase of their strategic collaboration, unveiling a multifaceted plan aimed at introducing sovereign cloud offerings, fostering co-innovation, and enhancing advanced AI capabilities. The partnership also encompasses plans for the expansion of the existing data center infrastructure within the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Microsoft’s cloud offering is set to provide a secure platform for UAE public sector entities and regulated industries, offering access to cutting-edge cloud and AI features available on the Azure public cloud. This initiative aligns with the objective of aiding organizations in adhering to local privacy and regulatory prerequisites. Leveraging G42’s deep understanding of UAE sovereignty requirements and technical expertise, the offering will be tailored to address specific customer needs effectively.


Furthermore, the collaboration between G42 and Microsoft will focus on the development of AI-enabled industry-specific solutions, spanning domains such as health and life sciences, energy, sustainability, and national significance projects, including the upcoming COP28 conference to be hosted in the UAE. In addition to elevating the benchmarks for public sector cloud computing security and innovation, the partnership aims to empower the broader technology ecosystem by delivering in-country services, expanding market opportunities for partners, and unlocking substantial value for Microsoft’s partner network to provide industry-specific solutions to local entities. As part of this expansion, Microsoft will extend its Azure services presence within the UAE through Khazna Data Centers, a joint venture between G42 and e&.


Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government and Director of The National Data Center, commended the collaboration, highlighting its potential to enhance efficiency, streamline access to services, and bolster cybersecurity efforts while supporting economic growth and the nation’s reputation.
