Joseph Ghazal to Lead Tishman Speyer’s Global Growth

USA

Joseph Ghazal will lead Tishman Speyer’s international growth strategy, with an initial focus on acquisition and development opportunities in the Middle East and expanding the firm’s presence in India.

Global real estate investment firm Tishman Speyer has appointed Joseph Ghazal as Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Growth, creating a new leadership position to accelerate its expansion across international markets.

Ghazal will be responsible for identifying, developing and scaling new markets and platforms across Tishman Speyer’s global business. His initial mandate will include pursuing acquisition and development opportunities in the Middle East, strengthening the company’s existing operations in India and supporting growth across its established business lines.

Based in New York City, Ghazal will join the firm’s Global Investment Committee and report directly to Tishman Speyer CEO Rob Speyer. He is expected to begin the role in August.

More Than Two Decades at Prologis

Ghazal joins Tishman Speyer after more than 20 years at Prologis, where he held senior leadership positions spanning Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

Most recently, he served as Global Chief Investment Officer, overseeing investment strategy, capital deployment and business development across the global logistics real estate company. He previously served as Prologis’ Chief Investment Officer for Europe.

His experience across multiple regions and real estate markets is expected to support Tishman Speyer as it seeks to broaden its geographic reach and identify new opportunities for investment and development.

“This is an exceptional opportunity to build upon one of the great foundations in global real estate,” Ghazal said. He added that he looked forward to applying his international experience to expand Tishman Speyer’s impact and reach.

Expanding into New Markets

Rob Speyer said Ghazal’s appointment follows a decade in which the company has expanded into new international markets, introduced investment vehicles and developed new product lines.

“As someone who has spent his career doing exactly this, Joseph is perfectly positioned to help spearhead our next era of growth,” Speyer said.

Tishman Speyer manages approximately $70 billion in assets across 40 markets in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Its portfolio spans offices, residential communities, retail, industrial facilities, data centres, life sciences, mixed-use developments and real estate credit.

The firm has increasingly diversified beyond its traditional office portfolio, launching platforms focused on affordable housing, industrial and data-centre properties, coworking, real estate lending and proptech investments.

Ghazal’s appointment signals that international expansion, particularly in the Middle East and India, will play a central role in the company’s next phase of growth.
