Pinterest CFO Julia Brau Donnelly will leave the company on October 30 to pursue another opportunity, with finance executive Vikram Naidu set to serve as interim Principal Financial Officer while the company searches externally for its next CFO.
Pinterest is preparing for a transition at the top of its finance organisation, with Chief Financial Officer Julia Brau Donnelly set to step down on October 30, 2026, after more than three years in the role.
Donnelly submitted her resignation on August 26 to pursue another opportunity and will remain with the company until the end of October to support the transition. Pinterest has confirmed that her departure is not connected to any disagreement over the company’s operations, policies, practices or accounting matters.
The company has already begun an external search for its next Chief Financial Officer.
Until a permanent successor is appointed, Vikram Naidu, Vice President of Finance and Business Operations, will serve as Principal Financial Officer on an interim basis, effective October 30. His interim designation will be in addition to his existing responsibilities.
Naidu has been with Pinterest since March 2024 and currently leads its Finance and Business Operations organisation, including enterprise-wide financial planning and analysis.
Before joining Pinterest, he served as Vice President of Finance at physical security technology company Verkada. He previously spent around seven years at Lyft, progressing through several senior finance positions and serving as Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis and later Vice President of Finance.
For Pinterest, his appointment provides internal continuity while the company conducts its external search.
Donnelly, meanwhile, joined Pinterest as CFO in June 2023, reporting to CEO Bill Ready. Her remit grew to encompass the company’s global finance organisation, including accounting, strategic finance and FP&A, business operations, financial operations, tax, treasury, corporate development, real estate and workplace operations, internal audit and investor relations.
Her appointment had brought significant experience across technology, e-commerce and investment to Pinterest’s leadership team.
Before Pinterest, Donnelly spent more than seven years at Wayfair, where she rose to become Vice President and Global Head of Finance and Accounting. In that position, she led a global finance and accounting organisation spanning strategic finance, investor relations, corporate development, FP&A, accounting, tax and finance operations.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a private equity investor focused on media and technology companies at Thomas H. Lee Partners.
Donnelly’s departure now creates an important executive appointment for Pinterest as it determines who will lead its finance function through its next stage.
The company’s decision to appoint Naidu on an interim basis while looking externally for a permanent CFO provides the leadership team with time to consider the longer-term requirements of the position without leaving a gap in financial oversight.
It also places Naidu in an expanded leadership position during the transition, drawing on his experience across Pinterest’s financial planning and business operations as the company prepares for its next permanent finance chief.
Donnelly will remain in her role for approximately two months following her resignation notice, providing a defined transition period before Naidu assumes his interim responsibilities.
For Pinterest, the coming months will therefore involve both leadership continuity and leadership renewal: maintaining stability within the finance organisation while identifying the executive who will shape its next chapter.
