Waystar has appointed Amit Khanna as Chief Product and Technology Officer and promoted long-serving executive Todd Woods to Chief Commercial Officer, strengthening its technology and commercial leadership as AI takes a larger role in healthcare operations.
Waystar is strengthening two important sides of its executive leadership team; technology development and commercial strategy as the healthcare software company looks to advance its next phase of innovation.
The company has appointed Amit Khanna as Chief Product and Technology Officer, while Todd Woods, a 24-year Waystar veteran, has been named Chief Commercial Officer. The appointments bring together an external technology leader with extensive enterprise software experience and a long-serving executive with deep knowledge of Waystar’s clients and market.
For CEO Matt Hawkins, the leadership additions come as intelligent technology begins playing a greater role in managing complex healthcare revenue-cycle workflows. Waystar is increasingly investing in AI, automation and platform development as it works towards what it describes as an autonomous revenue cycle.
Khanna brings more than 25 years of enterprise technology experience to the role. He most recently served as Senior Vice President and General Manager at Salesforce, where he led the company’s global healthcare business and was responsible for AI strategy, product direction and go-to-market execution. His work there included the development of enterprise AI solutions for healthcare organisations, including Agentforce for Health. Earlier in his career, Khanna held senior technology leadership positions at SAP and First Data.
At Waystar, Khanna will oversee the company’s product and technology strategy, with a particular focus on AI, automation and platform innovation. His remit will also include advancing Waystar’s work around agentic technology, systems designed not only to generate insights but increasingly to take action across workflows.
His appointment is particularly timely. One day after announcing the leadership changes, Waystar unveiled new agentic capabilities within its AltitudeAI platform designed to execute tasks across healthcare revenue-cycle workflows.
Woods, meanwhile, represents continuity within the leadership team. During his 24 years with Waystar, he has worked across several areas of the business and most recently led its ambulatory, enterprise, channel and business-development growth.
He has also played a role in the company’s expansion across the healthcare sector. Waystar says its platform now serves more than one million providers across different care settings.
As Chief Commercial Officer, Woods will lead the company’s commercial strategy, including strengthening client relationships and expanding adoption of its platform.
The appointments create a complementary leadership structure: Khanna is tasked with shaping the technology and products Waystar develops, while Woods will focus on how those capabilities reach and create value for clients.
“Together, they strengthen an exceptional leadership team and position Waystar to move even faster toward future opportunities ahead,” Hawkins said in announcing the appointments.
The changes also follow another recent addition to Waystar’s senior team. Alpana Wegner became Chief Financial Officer effective August 1, 2026, bringing experience in scaling publicly traded technology businesses and operational execution.
Taken together, the appointments reflect a broader leadership focus on aligning technology, commercial execution and financial strategy as Waystar develops its AI-driven healthcare platform.
For Khanna and Woods, the next chapter will involve translating those respective strengths into a shared objective: ensuring that technological innovation is matched by the organisational and commercial leadership needed to bring it into everyday healthcare operations.
