OpenText Names Former IBM Americas President Ayman Antoun as CEO

OpenText has appointed Ayman Antoun as its new Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board, with effect from April 20, 2026, marking a key leadership transition at the enterprise information management company.

Antoun brings more than 30 years of global technology and operational leadership experience to the role. Most recently, he served as President of IBM Americas, where he led the company’s largest regional business across the United States, Canada and Latin America. During his tenure at IBM, he oversaw major initiatives in cloud computing, infrastructure, cybersecurity and digital modernization.

The OpenText Board said Antoun’s deep enterprise technology expertise and track record of leading large-scale global transformations position him to drive disciplined growth, particularly as the company expands its focus on cloud modernization and enterprise AI.

Antoun succeeds James McGourlay, who has been serving as Interim CEO. Following the transition, McGourlay will continue in a senior leadership role within the company, while Executive Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer P. Thomas Jenkins will resume the role of Chair of the Board.

Commenting on the appointment, Jenkins said Antoun was the right leader to guide OpenText through its next phase of growth, citing his experience in scaling complex technology businesses and creating long-term shareholder value.

In a statement, Antoun said OpenText’s trusted data platform and global client base provide a strong foundation for advancing enterprise and agentic AI solutions, adding that he looks forward to leading the company into its next chapter.

Headquartered in Canada, OpenText is a global leader in secure information management, providing software and services that help organizations manage, govern and activate data for AI-driven operations across industries worldwide.
